Launch of World Population Day report
KINGSTON – The Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in partnership with the I’m Glad I’m a Girl Foundation (IGIG), of Mary Seacole Hall, collaborated to commemorate the launch of the captioned report in a “Girls’ Conference” on Friday.
The focus of the report this year was, “I am 10: how our future depends on a girl at this decisive age”. Speakers were able to engage the audience with empowering stories of how they were able to overcome liife obstacles. Diahann Gordon-Harrison of the Children’s Advocate and Dawn Lindo, the Chief Executive Officer of the DMarie Institute were among the female empowerment speakers.
