ST. THOMAS – On Thursday, the Morant Bay Centre celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD). The event featured Nurse Afflict from Princess Margret Hospital, Bank of Nova Scotia and Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) representatives,
Nurse Afflick shared her success story and experience being a teen mother with the Morant Bay Centre students. She urged the students to work for what they want to achieve, and “do not to worry about the problems that may occur just keep focused and have faith.”
A small presentation was planned by the Bank of Nova Scotia, that encouraged the students to continue working hard, while CISOCA educated the students about their rights, and spoke about CISOCA aim and gender-base violence.
