J.U.M.P Ministries donate large supply of school and baby items
KINGSTON – Bishop Durone Hepburn and his wife, Lady Phuong Hepburn from J.U.M.P. Ministries Global Church (Orlando, Florida) donated a large amount of baby necessities and school supplies to the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation (WCJF). The bountiful supply of items were delivered on Monday.
On Tuesday, the WCJF organized a Handover Ceremony, where the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honorable Olivia Grange ensured to be present to receive and give gratitude for the donations.
Minister Grange thanked J.U.M.P Ministries for the donations, and then spoke passionately about the work of the WCJF. She commended all the WCJF staff for their commitment and hard-work to the Centre’s daily operations. She emphasized on the importance of the organization’s existence in Jamaica, as many of the adolescent mothers see the Centre as their lifeline.
Bishop Hepburn and his wife also gave some remarks, and advised the adolescent girls to continue to pray for their children and themselves. “Having a child is not the end of your life,” said Bishop.
Lady Hepburn spoke about growing up in an impecunious household, and becoming a Christian 10 years ago. She emphasized the importance of knowing God and praying, as it played a big role in their current situation; having one of the biggest media ministries in Orlando, Florida.
The Ceremony ended with a gratitude speech presented by one of the adolescent mothers, to Bishop and Lady Hepburn.
