Advancement of Secondary, Tertiary, Remedial Education for Adolescent Mothers (A-STREAM)

The Advancement of Secondary, Tertiary, Remedial Education for Adolescent Mothers (A-STREAM) was launched in 2018 as the fortieth-anniversary legacy project to provide financial and psychosocial support to adolescent mothers. This programme is intent on curtailing the number of adolescent mothers at risk of dropping out of school a second time due to financial hardship.

The programme is exclusively for past students of the WCJF who were reintegrated into formal secondary school or are pursuing tertiary/vocational training.

Since 2018, 50 mentors have been paired with adolescent mothers, 155 students have been supported, and $9.7 million has been disbursed.
