Pregnant at 14, now at 36 years old, I hold a MSc. in Biomedical Research. I am a senior Medical Technologist, A wife and a mother to three beautiful children. With the help of the Counselling Programme at Women's Centre, I had learnt from early that society's opinion of me is not my reality; I control my narrative.

Mother at 14
As an adolescent mother, I sold bag juice to help care for my baby. Realizing that an education was the only way out, I enrolled at Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation and they gave me a scholarship which helped me to complete my First Degree. Today, at 26 years old, I am a Registered Nurse at the Annotto Bay Hospital.

I'm Amy Muir, I was 16 years old when I got pregnant. I had no money but I knew I wanted beter for myself and my baby. I worked hard and was able to secure a scholarship from the Ministry of Education. I graduated from Church Teachers' with a Bachelor of Education degree specializing in Mathematics. Through it all, I've learned that your attitude in the face of adversity can truly shape your future.
